Start                Vallhund day Sept 20 2008            Things we've done

The weather I had ordered was in place when we gathered - 13 humans and 10 dogs.

But first we had to get all the dogs inside the fence

and when new company arrived they ran to greet them.

You have to tell your son who is in charge!

The visitors are examined by theresidentyoungsters but their mother wants to play tag.

Are more dogs coming?

What is he up to? Pixie thinks "I'd better get away".  Otherwise shy Elly made contact with Kurre.

When all were gathered we took a walk for about an hour where the dogs could be free most of the time.

Back again we made a fire to grill sausages. For a while rain was imminent but it stayed away.

Of course the dogs thought that provisions and buns should be theirs!

Everywhere there were dogs

but we managed to get room for chairs to sit down to have coffee.

In the meantime some of the dogs became sweethearts – like Pixie and Jason.

Milla and Castor have a tęte-a-tęte.

Castor trotted off to check on the other girls and Brandy reveled in having two courting boys

.

Elly went to her master to supervise  the other's behaviour

… while Kurre found himself an exciting bottom!

Ville had a lot to say about his brother, and his mistress had to tell him off a number of times to make him calm down.

Bea felt that her brothers were childish making so much fuss.

Pixie showed what many felt: Life is swell on a day like this!

It was (in my opinion) a pleasant afternoon. A lot of talk about the dogs and much happiness among the dogs

who seldom get a chance to play freely with that many of their own breed.

At last it was time to part hoping to see each other again.

Next vallhund day will be next year June 6 or 7 with an opportunity to get the dog described.
