TOO much has happened for me to be able to remember and summarize it here. All the pups except Vaira who is to stay here have left us and you can read about
that on Presidents who moved out. Some can be read on Presidents who moved out and some on Unsorted Thoughts Nr 8 (when I'm done translating it).
I will report as much as possible about what happens to these pups on their respective page.

Sunday Januari 9th 2011

A lot of things have happened since the last update. The pups have developed and Bea has got a diagnosis - Cushing's syndrom. It IS treatable but
it will cost about 1 000 SEK/month and it can be tricky to find the correct level of medication. So last Monday (Jan 3rd) she had her last vaccination. The
one against an unworthy life. I miss her very much but most important - I saved her from a treatment that had the potential of being almost as much
trouble as the illness. I will keep Vaira, her last pup, though.

The puppies have now decided that somewhere between 7 and 8 o'clock they are not to be locked up in the kitchen and dining room. They insist upon
getting out to the rest of the pack. They play for a while and then go to sleep in the dog's bed besides my bed. (The grown dogs sleep with me.) But
Tarja who always tries to get up higher will of course get up into my bed where she after som playing goes to sleep on my arm. Very cozy!
The temperature outside has become more tolerable so the pups have been allowed out in the snow. Their reactions differ - some have hurried to get out
others thought the stairs were evil and Urho felt unhappy about the cold and wet snow. Chaim didn't wait to be helped downstairs but went sideways
out on a pile of snow from which he then slid down! When I wanted to get them back inside he did not accept that but went out on the plain snow to
explore what was there.

      Chaim's adventures in the snow!

Nestor felt that Ville's bowl seemed cozy. Although it was strange to have an empty ring besides. He had to be helped down...

Urho has invented a game of his own: "Hunt the tail".

The first pup has moved today. It was Tarja who went to a family in Skåne. They had other dogs to help bringing her up so she could leave at the
age of eight weeks (I usually want to keep them for ten weeks). But I feel confident that she will have a nice home.

You & me mom! Bye-bye siblings!

Birgitta Schön was also visisting today and took some fine pictures of the pups. So how about theese?

Monday December 20th
The pups now show their different personalities.
Chaim is the one who wants most cuddling.
Franklin and Vaira have most need to explore things. To them an obstacle is there only to get over!
Nestor and Urho are a bit more careful in new places. They take their time to check out any danger before they go on playing.
Tarja is a real quicksilver. Always on the move.
Common to all of them is that they love when played and cuddled with!

Wednesday December 15th

Astounded I realize that almost half of my time with the pups already is gone. It is now they start to show more of their personality. It is now I can play
with them. It is now they are inexpressibly charming. Tarja climbed over the high edge in the front of the box so I had to take that away and now they
"own" the entire kitchen around the clock. Two of the boys are already spoken for and I think they will get really good homes. Lyra has shown her
talents as play leader here with Tarja.

     and Tarja isn't shy playing!

Chaim examines a finger.
 After that he wakes Vaira.

Minced beef! We never had something THAT tasty before.
Vaira studies her buddies.
Urho likes to have a roof over his head!

Saturday December 11th

Today the pups are precisely four weeks old. They have tasted some new food; Esbilac is not good enough except if I mix it in crême fraiche! Yesterday they were
allowed out on the kichen floor to play and they really loved that. Today they told me that they expected the same treat but more. They wanted to explore their surroundings.
Mainly the kitchen but they made small trips into the dining room as well.

Here the litter gathers around the food.
Tarja tries the food with her paws as well!

Vaira absolutly wants OUT! Franklin decides to check the dining room.

Sunday December 5th

What is Mom eating from that bowl?

The first taste of something that is not "Bea's homebrew"

Both Nestor and Franklin wonder what is outside of the box.

 Vaira has overcome the ridge

... and has to find out what else there is

... but OH how slippery the floor is.

What luck that mistress was around to help the fugitive back!

Tuesday November 30th

Not only have the pups opened their eyes. They have started to play with each other!

And the framework has to be examined...

A kiss for you sis says Nestor to Vaira.

Fredag November 26th

After almost two weeks of worry (more about that in "Thoughts") everything seems to go in the right direction. A heartfelt thank you to the vets

Ann-Charlotte Palmgren in Nybro and Annika Karlsson in Läckeby
and their kind and caring staff!!

Here we are waiting for test results - the pups with a heating lamp as they might feel cold otherwise.

When we got home and the pups weighed they gor new collars so I can see atonce who is who.
The beautiful collars is a gift from the Schön family in Kallinge! Thanks again.

Sunday Nov. 14th

Bea takes care of her puppies.

Thursday Nov. 18th

In the morning was Golda dead in the box. Sad but not entirely unexpected as she had lost weight the first two days and only gained 22 g since she was born.

The difference in size between little Golda and Nestor is obvious.

Friday Nov. 19th

Today Vigdis was dead in the box. That was a chock. She was a normal sized pup who gained weight properly and was 286 g yesterday.
I just can't understand it.
I took the lot to the vet. who examined both Bea (extensivly) and listened to the pups hearts and lungs. Bea is on antibiotics and will go for
another check on Monday to make sure she is not pre-diabetic although it doesn't show on the tests yet. I feel safer knowing that the vet
doesn't just let us go with a shrug!

Chaim has been the name of two Israeli presidents; the word itself means "life"
Tarja is the president of Finland since 2000
Urho was the president of Finland between 1956-1982
Golda was the Prime minister of Israel 1969-1974 (so I cheated a little using this name)
Nestor was the president of Argentina 2003-2007
Vigdis was the president of Island 1980-1986
Franklin has been the name of two American presidents. Franklin Pierce (1853-1857) and Franklin Roosevelt (1933-1945)
Vaira was the president of Lettland 1999-2007
(Mario was the president of Portugal 1986-1996)

All of them gathered
