 Vallhund-day in Dångebo 6/6 -10

Read about it and see the pictures here.

Next time will be September 19th.

Carnival in Emmaboda 29/5 -10
... and Ville pulled his cart with Maizey as a passenger.

But sometimes Maizey preferred to walk on her own and she took care of her own things.

And you get tired after a while It was a lot of fun though!

The Show in Simmatorp...
... was a marvelous experience - on spite of the threats of rain! That many Vallhunds gathered in one place you will only be able to see once a year (at the most) and
as it is a happiness for both body and soul to enjoy all these dogs of different age, size, color etc. and to meet others who also love this breed the main show of the
breed club is the top of the year experience for me.
It didn't get any worse from getting to meet some of my pups who have left the kennel together with their new owners. I meet regularly with Maizey, but to see
Norton, Sunny och Yamma as (almost) one year old was fantastic. THANKS to you who brought them!!! That they only got blue ribbons depended on their owners
lack of trtaining i showing dogs in the ring. And that is to me not very important. They were beautiful, very nice and loved - what else can I as their breeder wish for?
My own  dogs were entered all five of them, but I only got to show two myself so I couldn't have managed without the great help I got from the Pigney family. Lots and lots
of thanks for all your help!

The individual results were:
HD got a red ribbon
Ville got a red ribbon, ck and was number one in his class
Maizey got a red ribbon, second place!
Lyra got a red ribbon and was reserve
Bea och Tuva both got red ribbons
Duritzan's kennel showed HD, Ville, Maizey and Lyra and got third place in the breeder's class
Duritzan's Beatrice showed her offsprings HD, Norton, Yamma and Maizey and got third place in the breeder's class

Well this was one occasion. The next show might bring only blue ribbons. I can not know about that and the show results do not change the value of the dog in my opinion
even if it is fun when people who do not know "my" dogs think they are swell!

And a big thank you to all who worked to make the show function!

At last....

After a period when there was little time for the dogs we now have started a group to exercize Rally Obedience. That should suite us much better as I can't stop "talking with
my entire body" and the dogs are used to words and body language as one unit something quite ok in Rally Obedience. So now we spend every Saturday at the Club
together with other dogs and their owners who also think this is both useful and fun.

HD and Lyra attend a Class of Everyday Obedience just as Ville and Bea did before. My intention is that if I work the dogs together it will become easier to do other things
together as well - hopefully with the entire pack!

Our first offical competition in Obediece 7/2 -10

First I have to say that I didn't participate as a competitor. To me it was a new funny activity to do together. As class I was divided into group A and group B
both Ville and Bea could take part.

Little Ville beween "the great ones". Ville is fokusing om mistress.

 Bea is pretending "heel".
Preparing for jump... ... and praise after a performed jump.

None of us recieved any price (according to expectations) but that the dogs got the points that they got (Ville 92 och Bea 79) is entirely their own merit. If their mistress
had put half the energy into training that they put into doing what she asks of them they would have won the competition with good measure. They have the capacity even
if their mistress doesn't!

Club championship at Tingsryds Brukshundklubb 17/1 -10

Bea started in Obedience I and managed (thanks to a generous judge) get 93 points. So we got into the first place counted backwards, but that was due to mistress...

After that both Bea and Ville started in Agility where both of them ended in the same place as the rest of the competitors. Besides the winner: Johanna S med Asta.
The rest of us were all disqualified a number of times :-D

Unofficial dog show in Bräkne-Hoby 25/10 -09

As an exercize before I take them to official shows I took my two youngest, Lyra and HD, to this show with the extra bonus of getting to meet with Norton and his
mistress and master. Plus the Pigneys went with Milla (child with dog) and Maizey for the pup class. I had no idea that Maizey would be reserv (= 5th) out of 24 pups
4-6 months. A big congratulation to Carla who showed her phenomenally and to the entire family owning this little princess!

More quiet dogs...

I have for some time worked to get the dogs to bark at least less at people passing on the road outside our grounds. And it has been less but still very much annoying.
One of my instructors at the dog training club promised to help me and yesterday (Oct. 8th) she was here. To our aid we had a couple of "provocateurs" who strolled on
the road in front of our house and now and then stopped close by. Carina worked hard with the dogs for an hour and a half - but after that they were quiet!!! Now it is up
to me to continue the work and work as she showed me with or without "provocateurs". It will take selfdiscipline and quite a lot of work. But the reward - to be able to enjoy
the dogs without getting desperate over the barking - that is worth a lot.

Herding test in Vankiva 26/9 -09

We attended a test of aptitude for herding with depressing results. To be sure Bea was much tougher than two year ago. She pinched the animals a couple of times
but after that she decided that she had dome enough. Lyra went all the way up to the hind legs but when the animals turned and looked at her she turned.
In spite of that it was a great day meeting a lot of Vallhunds and their owners. Can one ask for more?

Club championship in agility 23/11 -08

Both Ville and Bea competed in the small class. Bea won with three penalty  points! Ville was faster but he had four penalty  points.
Their aunt Milla was number four.  Mostly the dogs had a lot of fun!!

Vallhund-day in Dångebo 20/9 -08

When all were gathered (13 humans and 10 dogs!) we went for a walk for about an hour where the dogs could be free most of the time.

First Vallhund-day in Dångebo 14/6 -08

First time, in the middle of school ending and other things so we were not too many, but we had a good time                   .

Next time is planned for September and we hope that more will join us. More pictures from the day are found here.

Nimmo visiting

Nimmo spent a couple of days with us when his family went away and the two-legged individuals enjoyed his visit just as much as the four-legged ones did!
He is an incredibly happy and nice dog whoreally makes life more fun. And even nicer is that his mistress is a very nice person as well.
